Veneration of Regional Youth Convention Cross Held at St. John Bosco Parish, Maram Khunou, Manipur

Senapati, Manipur, April 26, 2025: St. John Bosco Parish, Maram Khunou, in Senapati District, Manipur, joyfully hosted the veneration of the Regional Youth Convention Cross of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement–North East Region (ICYM-NE) on April 24, 2025. Organised by the Manipur Catholic Youth Organisation (MCYO), the event sought to foster spiritual growth, reflection, and communal bonding among the youth of the parish.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn procession of the Cross, symbolising the youths’ journey of faith and solidarity. Representatives of MCYO formally received the Cross from delegates of ICYM-NE, marking the beginning of the spiritually enriching event.

Approximately 250 youth and elders participated, demonstrating a strong spirit of devotion and community. The event continued with a session of Eucharistic Adoration, allowing participants to reflect deeply on their faith and seek divine guidance. This was followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Paul Ngouni, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Imphal.

Later, a felicitation ceremony was held to honour the contributions of the priests and the North East Regional Youth Commission (NERYC) team. Special recognition was given to ICYM-NE Regional Youth Lady Animator, Sr. Lyngdoh Wansuk, MSMHC, and Regional Youth President, Mr. Huimingam Chithung, for their unwavering commitment to fostering youth ministry across the region.

The event left a lasting impression of faith, unity, and hope among all participants, preparing them spiritually for the regional youth convention due to be held in Kohima in June 2025.
