Guwahati, 3 May, 2025 - Little Flower Convent in Hatigaon, Guwahati, hosted the Veneration of the Regional Youth Convention Cross on 2 May 2025, marking a significant spiritual moment for the youth of North East India. The ceremony began with a solemn procession, followed by a powerful hour of Eucharistic Adoration.
Fr. John Barman MSFS, Regional Youth Director, led the adoration, supported by the Sisters of the convent who conducted the devotional service. The gathering was marked by heartfelt hymns and prayers, specifically offered for the North Eastern Regional Youth Commission and the success of the upcoming Regional Youth Convention (RYC) 2025, scheduled to take place in Kohima from 27 to 30 June.
The event served as a meaningful expression of unity, accompaniment, and encouragement for the young people of the region. Attendees described the spiritual atmosphere as deeply moving and enriching.
Adding grace to the occasion were Sr. Liza Elavunkal MSMHC, General Councillor for Social Apostolate, Sr. Dominica Kasho MSMHC, Junior Mistress, Sr. Rita Rabha MSMHC, Vice Superior, and the MSMHC Junior Sisters. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to youth ministry and spiritual formation in the region.
The Veneration event not only fostered fellowship but also strengthened the shared mission of guiding young people in faith and leadership. As the cross continues its journey towards Kohima, the spirit of ICYM North East remains vibrant and alive.
