Ten Commandments Light and Sound Show Draws 5,000 at St. Anthony’s Shrine, Bangalore

TC Palya, Bangalore, 14 April 2025 – St. Anthony’s Shrine in TC Palya marked a significant spiritual occasion with a grand mega sound and light programme based on the Biblical theme of the Ten Commandments, drawing an impressive crowd of nearly 5,000 attendees on Palm Sunday, 13 April.

Held under the leadership and guidance of Parish Priest Msgr. C. Francis and Assistant Parish Priests Fr. David Kumar and Fr. Anthony Alex, the event took place on the evening of 13 April and was inaugurated by ACP Umashankar, whose presence added significance and prestige to the occasion. Several police personnel were also present, many of whom expressed their appreciation for the programme’s scale and message.

Parishioners from Mariapura staged the four-hour play under the direction of Fr. A. Thomas. Their powerful performance, brought to life with the help of a 600-square-foot digital screen and dynamic visual effects, captivated the audience and brought a modern touch to the ancient Biblical narrative.

Audience members, including religious leaders and devoted faithful, praised the performance for both its artistic quality and spiritual depth. The play did more than entertain—it stirred hearts, delivering a compelling message rooted in Scripture and encouraging attendees to reflect on their own lives in light of God’s commandments.

The event’s success stood as a testament to the dedication of the organising team and the enduring relevance of the Ten Commandments, as recorded in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. The programme served not only as a dramatic retelling of divine law but also as a sacred call to live in faith, love, and obedience to the Word of God.
