St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, Karnataka, to Host Free Career Training and Job Placement Programme

Hassan, Karnataka, July 12, 2025: St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, will be conducting a free Career Training Programme and Job Placement Drive from July 16 to 18, 2025, at its campus in B. Katihalli, a village in Hassan district. The event is aimed at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and ITI students from Hassan and surrounding areas and is being held in collaboration with the Magic Bus India Foundation. Interested candidates must register online in advance to secure their participation in the event.

The career training sessions will take place on July 16 and 17, covering resume writing, communication and soft skills, interview preparation, and understanding job descriptions. On July 18, the college will host the main placement drive, where representatives from 12 companies will conduct interviews and hire candidates for various positions.

Speaking to Catholic Connect, Fr. Olvin, Head of the Placement Cell at St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, highlighted the mission behind the initiative:

“The aim of this programme is not just to offer jobs but to provide direction and create awareness among rural youth—many of whom are qualified yet remain unemployed due to a lack of exposure and training,” he said.

He added that the placement drive is a golden opportunity for job seekers, especially in a Tier-3 city like Hassan, where local employment opportunities are limited.

The training programme and placement drive are completely free of charge, thanks to the support of the Magic Bus India Foundation.

“Magic Bus provides these services at no cost under CSR-funded programs. Their trainers will conduct the workshops to ensure students are well-prepared to face recruiters during the placement drive,” said Fr. Olvin.

Over 200 students have already registered for the event through the official Google Form, and a dedicated WhatsApp group has been created for coordination. 

"We expect students to approach this initiative with seriousness and commitment," Fr. Olvin stated. "Students must come prepared with their CVs. Attendance on both training days—16th and 17th July—is mandatory to be eligible for the placement drive. Walk-in or unregistered participants will not be permitted on the day of the drive," he added.
