Nashik, Maharashtra, 31 May, 2025 - In a moment of deep spiritual joy and pride, Sr. Heena Christina Bo made her First Profession on 24 May 2025 at the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Nashik, Maharashtra, under the Mumbai Province.
Sr. Christina, daughter of Mr. Kulun Bo and Mrs. Homsa Bo, hails from the remote village of Wagun Ponthai under Rajanagar Parish in Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh. Significantly, she is now the second Religious Sister from her village—an inspiring milestone for the local Christian community.
The third of four siblings—two boys and two girls—Sr. Christina began her religious journey in 2021 when she joined the FMA Congregation. She underwent her initial formation, including Aspirancy and Postulancy, in Maligaon, Guwahati, before proceeding to her Novitiate in Nashik.
Before entering religious life, she spent five years as a private school teacher in Gaya, Bihar. Recalling her call to vocation, she said, “Later, deep within my heart, I got the wonderful call from God and I am very grateful for the vocation I have received.”
She also reflected on the challenges she initially faced: “My parents were initially opposed to the decision I made, but now I feel they are very much happy for what I am today. I am also grateful to God for the blessings I have received from Him and I fully trust in His grace and providence.”
Her profession stands not only as a personal commitment but also as a beacon of faith and encouragement for her native village and the wider community of the Miao Diocese.
Heartfelt congratulations and blessings to Sr. Heena Christina Bo on her First Profession and her courageous response to God’s call. May her journey inspire many young people across the diocese to discern their own vocations with courage and faith.
