Prayers for Peace as India and Pakistan on Edge After Military Strikes

India, 7 May, 2025 - As the world watches with bated breath, prayers for peace and stability are being echoed across the globe amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

The situation is precarious, and the need for calm and diplomacy has never been more pressing.

According to reports, India launched "Operation Sindoor" early today, conducting precision strikes on terrorist camps in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack that killed 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.

The Ministry of Defence has emphasized that the operation was "focused, measured and non-escalatory" in nature, targeting specific terrorist infrastructure without hitting Pakistani military facilities.

Details of the Operation

- Nine sites were targeted in the operation, with four hits reported inside Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir

- The precision strikes were launched at 1:44 AM, targeting terrorist infrastructure used to plan the Pahalgam attack

Reactions and Implications

The situation remains tense, with Pakistan initiating heavy firing across sectors on the Line of Control (LoC) after the strikes. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan reserves the right to retaliate. The international community has urged restraint and diplomacy, with the United Nations calling for "maximum restraint" and a peaceful resolution.

As the situation unfolds, the need for peace and stability in the region is being felt deeply. Let's hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict, prioritizing diplomacy over further escalation.
