ICYM Karnataka Hosts Second DELTA Leadership Programme in Bhadravathi

Bhadravathi, Karnataka, May 13, 2025: The Karnataka Region unit of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) conducted its second DELTA (Diocesan Executive Leader Training Advancement) programme on May 10 and 11, 2025, at Bodhana Pastoral Centre in Bhadravathi. The event brought together 32 youth leaders, animators, and directors from nine dioceses across Karnataka to equip them with leadership, communication, and pastoral skills.

The first day of the programme commenced with interactive ice-breaking activities, allowing participants to connect and build rapport with each other. A celebratory moment was dedicated to honouring the birthday and ordination anniversaries of Fr Libin and Fr Franklin, respectively, adding a festive spirit to the start of the training.

Participants engaged in a series of team-building exercises designed to enhance coordination and leadership capabilities. Key sessions on Public Relations and Media Tools offered insights into effective publicity strategies for youth-led initiatives. Hands-on workshops in AI tools, report writing, and poster design provided practical experience in digital communication and creativity.

The first day concluded with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, followed by Adoration and a vibrant cultural evening. The stage programme was graced by Fr. Thomas, Vicar General of Bhadravathi, who delivered an inspiring message to the youth.

Day two opened with another Eucharistic celebration. Following this, an energetic aerobics session led by Mr Harsha from Shimoga was held. A detailed session on Canon Law by Fr Lourdusamy T. deepened the participants' understanding of ecclesiastical regulations relevant to youth ministry. A spirited debate session further encouraged critical thinking, articulation, and time management.

The event concluded with an experience-sharing segment and a formal vote of thanks. Fr Lourd Raj (Regional Youth Director), Sr Molly (Lady Animator), and Ms Vileena Gonsalves (Regional President), along with the ICYM Karnataka team, honoured the contributors and participants, expressing gratitude for their active involvement and support.
