Fr. Sandesh Drops Electrifying Music Track on Carlo Acutis to Inspire Youth

Austria, 7 June, 2025: In a thrilling blend of rhythm and reverence, Fr. Sandesh Manuel, a Franciscan friar originally from Bangalore, has just released a high-energy music track on Blessed Carlo Acutis—the teenage techie and Eucharist lover who's on the road to sainthood.  

“I read about his life and I knew I had to write something,” Fr. Sandesh tells Catholic Connect. “My prayer is that it reaches many people—especially the youth—so they see that faith is not outdated. It’s alive, exciting, and real.” 

Now based in Austria, Fr. Sandesh appears in the video with young Catholics joyfully grooving to the beat, celebrating faith through music that pulses with energy and purpose. With this new song, he hopes to awaken faith in a generation scrolling for meaning.

Carlo’s Highway to Heaven

“Carlo Acutis is the saint of this generation,” Fr. Sandesh says with conviction. “He died just a few years ago, and yet he’s already a powerful witness to holiness.” 

“For today’s young people, faith often feels too distant, too mysterious. But Carlo changes that. The youth need something they can connect with. Here’s Carlo—with his laptop, t-shirt, and a blazing love for the Eucharist. He called the Eucharist the 'Highway to Heaven'. How cool is that?”  

‘They are My Mission’

For Fr. Sandesh, this isn’t just another release—it’s evangelisation in its freshest form. A trained jazz-pop singer and classical guitarist, he has spent the past 17 years creating content for YouTube and social media, speaking the language of the digital world with a Gospel heart. 

“My main goal of getting into YouTube,” he says, “was to reach out to those who don’t come to church. Especially in Europe, there are so many who’ve drifted away from the Church—and it’s not easy to reach them. They’re my mission.”

Over the years Fr. Sandesh has rapped about social issues like racism, environmental destruction, and human dignity. But this song hits differently—it’s personal, spiritual, and packed with power.
