Delhi/Jalandhar, 7 June 2025 — The Catholic community mourns the sudden and untimely demise of Fr. Maxim, a 54-year-old priest of the Archdiocese of Delhi and respected academician.
Fr. Maxim, who held a doctorate in philosophy, was serving as a professor at the Major Seminary in Jalandhar, where he was known for his profound knowledge, quiet humility, and commitment to the intellectual and spiritual formation of future priests. His unexpected passing has left students, colleagues, and the wider Church in shock.
Born and ordained in the Archdiocese of Delhi, Fr. Maxim’s vocation was marked by a deep love for teaching and philosophical inquiry. Over the years, he became a guiding force in seminarian education, shaping minds and hearts with thoughtful clarity, pastoral care, and academic rigour. His approach combined scholarship with lived faith, making his classes both intellectually rich and spiritually inspiring.
Messages of condolence poured in from across the country as news of his death spread. “Dear Maxim, your sudden departure is shocking and deeply saddening. May you rest in peace,” read one heartfelt tribute.
