Chikmagalur, December 30, 2024: The Diocese of Chikmagalur inaugurated the Jubilee 2025 on December 29 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Chikmagalur, under the theme "Pilgrims of Hope." The ceremony, presided over by Most Rev. Dr. T. Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chikmagalur, began with a solemn procession from St. Joseph’s Convent ground, where the Jubilee Cross, symbolizing hope, salvation, and resurrection, was carried with reverence.
Over 2,000 faithful, including priests and religious from across the diocese, gathered for the event, which radiated joy, devotion, and a renewed sense of spiritual hope. In his inaugural address, Bishop T. Anthony Swamy highlighted the Jubilee Cross's significance, urging the faithful to embark on a year-long spiritual pilgrimage guided by hope, faith, and charity.
Following the address, a Eucharistic celebration united the attendees in prayer and reflection. The Jubilee 2025 marks the beginning of a year of spiritual, cultural, and social initiatives, all inspired by the theme "Pilgrims of Hope," encouraging the faithful to deepen their faith and commitment to walking in the footsteps of Christ.
