Ernakulam, December 7, 2024: The Apostolic Nuncio to India, Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Leopoldo Girelli, unveiled the logo of the Socio-Political Academy during a formal ceremony held under the leadership of KCYM Varapuzha Archdiocese on December 6 at St Philomena's church, Koonamavu. The event, marking a significant milestone, took place as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Archdiocese's youth movement. The logo was officially handed over by the Nuncio to Rajeev Patric, President of KCYM Varapuzha Archdiocese, symbolizing the academy's commitment to fostering social and political awareness among the youth.
The Socio-Political Academy was established by KCYM Varapuzha Archdiocese as a flagship initiative to empower young Catholics with the knowledge and skills needed to engage effectively in social and political spheres. The unveiling ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Varapuzha Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Antony Valungal, KCYM Varapuzha Archdiocese Director Fr. Raphael Shinoj Aranchery, Treasurer Joyson P.J., Vice President Vinoj Varghese, and Secretary Ferdin Francis.
Archbishop Girelli lauded the initiative. The academy aims to equip young Catholics with tools to address contemporary challenges while upholding the Church's social teachings.
