A New Era Dawns: Archbishop George Antonysamy Assumes Chairmanship of Madha TV

Chennai, August 26, 2024: In a milestone event for the Tamil Nadu Catholic Church, Archbishop Dr. George Antonysamy, President of the Tamil Nadu Bishops' Council, took the reins as Chairman of Madha TV on August 24. The ceremony, held at the Madha TV office in Chennai, featured a solemn thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Archbishop Antonysamy himself.

The occasion was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Bishop Emeritus Dr. Sebastianappan Singaroyan, Archbishop Dr. Antony Papusamy of Madurai, and Mr. A. W. Rabi Bernard, Member of Parliament and Senior Media Expert. This transition marks a new chapter for Madha TV, a satellite television network dedicated to promoting Christian values and serving Tamil Christians worldwide.

During the event, Fr. David Arockiam, CEO of Madha TV, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, Bishop Emeritus Dr. Singaroyan, and welcomed Archbishop Antonysamy with enthusiasm, reaffirming Madha TV's commitment to its mission. Fr. Adaikala Raj honored Bishop Emeritus Dr. Singaroyan with a handwritten souvenir, while Mr. A. W. Rabi Bernard highlighted the invaluable contributions of Christian missionaries to India's social upliftment, citing Madha TV as a model of community-building excellence.
