‘A Life Immersed in Prayer’ Book Launch Explores the Spiritual Journey of St. Vincent Pallotti

Panjim, December 31, 2024: A Life Immersed in Prayer: St. Vincent Pallotti’s Path to Divine Connection, edited by Fr. Carlos Luis SAC, was officially launched in Goa on Decemer 29, marking a significant milestone in the Year of Prayer. The book, which was first released in Bangalore on October 31, 2024, delves into the profound spirituality of St. Vincent Pallotti, offering readers a transformative exploration of prayer as a vital connection with the Divine. The event, officiated by Fr. Valentine Alphonso SAC, Vice-Provincial of the ABVM Province of the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers, brought together contributors and attendees to celebrate this significant spiritual resource.

The book delves into St. Vincent Pallotti’s teachings, presenting prayer as the cornerstone of Christian life and an invitation to immerse oneself in God’s infinite love. Speaking at the event, Fr. Carlos Luis described the book as a reflection of Pallotti’s legacy. “St. Vincent’s life teaches us that prayer is not merely a practice but a way of being—an invitation to immerse ourselves in God’s infinite love and mercy,” he said.

Contributors shared personal insights into their chapters. Fr. Dr. Beniz Gomes highlighted Pallotti’s perspective on prayer as a personal relationship with God, while Sr. Inacinha Fernandes SAC emphasized the Eucharistic focus of Pallotti’s spirituality. Reflecting on the book’s spiritual impact, Fr. Dr. Savio Vaz SAC called Pallotti’s writings “profoundly mystical and hope-filled,” and lay contributor Mrs. Teresa Kattukaran described the book as a transformative resource that rejuvenated her faith.

The book’s cover, painted by Mrs. Avril Vaz, symbolizes St. Vincent Pallotti’s sanctity and Eucharistic devotion. Featuring artistic depictions of Pallotti in prayer and intricate designs representing the Holy Trinity, the cover aligns with the book’s central theme of prayer as a sacred act.

The event’s emcee, Mrs. Shimona Ida Godinho, ensured a seamless and reflective atmosphere, as attendees celebrated the book’s timely release during the Year of Prayer.
