Bangalore July 7, 2024: The Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod of the Angamaly province are embarking on new pathways to advance their various apostolates through a synodal approach. Forty sisters are gathered for a seven-day provincial chapter in Bangalore, where they are deeply engaged in discussions and deliberations centered around the theme “Pilgrims and Prophets of Pascal Hope.”
The goal is to develop innovative synodal pathways that enhance their ministries and apostolates with a compassionate approach, responding to contemporary challenges and needs. This theme encourages the sisters to reflect on their mission and seek divine guidance in their efforts to serve communities in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
"We are involved in social, educational, and healthcare apostolates across these regions," said Sr. Elsy George, the provincial. "By exploring the theme 'Pilgrims and Prophets of Pascal Hope' through spiritual discernment, we are asking ourselves what God wants us to do through our religious communities and institutions."
The Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod is an apostolic religious institute of pontifical right with an international presence. Their mission is to reveal the merciful love of God the Father and the liberating power of the paschal mystery, prioritizing the poor and oppressed, especially women and youth. Their ministries encompass education, health, social, pastoral, and family apostolates.
Through this provincial chapter, the sisters aim to strengthen their commitment to these ministries, ensuring their work remains relevant and impactful in today's world.
