Holy Father Pope Francis Said, “Presence of Jesus does not close us in on ourselves, it pushes us toward encountering others and deciding to walk with others, the women who discovered the empty tomb and met the risen Jesus, chose neither to keep the joy of the encounter to themselves nor to make the journey alone: they chose to walk with others.”
It is in the month of August 2023; the North Regional Women Commission deeply thought over the inclusivity of every member in the Parish on a Synodal path and dedicated each day for people of different category. In the evaluation we realized that only the Religious women were not having a special day to be acknowledged and honored in the Parishes.
Subsequently, in order to honor the Religious women, we together decided to dedicate the month of February as Religious Women’s day and have an event where we could acknowledge their contribution to the Church and Society and in a special to the Women’s Commission by giving their service selflessly.
Pope Francis once said “Women are good, that they know how to create new paths, they know how to give, and they are courageous.”Considering the potential of Women, it is an initiative to create awareness among the lay faithful that the Church is in dire need of collaborative ministry where the Religious and lay faithful join together in accomplishing the mission of the Kingdom of God.
Pope Francis says, “people who have met the risen Lord move forward with hope, so instead of always looking at difficulties or insisting everything was better in the past and ‘cultivating vinegar instead of sugar’, let us ask the Lord to show us the new ways and paths towards Synodal church.”While looking at the few unhealthy issues around us the encouragement of Holy father pushes us to move ahead with unruffled manner. Therefore, let us walk together to serve the Church and Society counting on the gifts that every woman enjoys in different walks of life.
I thank all the Diocesan Secretaries of CCBI Commission for Women for encouraging the Parish Team and Presidents to fulfill this great task.
