Bellary, Karnataka, July 19, 2025 — A Liturgical Faith Formation Seminar was successfully held on 19th July under the guidance of Fr. Suresh, Diocesan Catechetical Coordinator of the Diocese of Bellary. The seminar, meticulously planned and executed by Fr. Suresh, showcased his strong dedication to catechetical formation and pastoral renewal.
Fr. Suresh began the day by extending a warm welcome to the participants and introducing the resource person, Fr. Vinay Kumar, who currently serves as the Karnataka Regional Secretary for the Commissions of Liturgy and Interreligious Dialogue. The seminar arrangements and logistical support were ably managed by Fr. Arogya Dani, Associate Coordinator, ensuring the programme ran smoothly.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from Catechism Coordinators across Lingasugur, Sindhanur, and Raichur Deaneries. Fr. Vinay Kumar led the formation session, offering deep insights into the intrinsic connection between Liturgy and Faith Formation. Referencing Catechesi Tradendae and Sacrosanctum Concilium, he highlighted the vital role of liturgy in nurturing and deepening the faith life of the Christian community.
Fr. Vinay also stressed the importance of catechism teachers and coordinators in animating parish faith through the integration of liturgical elements within catechetical teaching. Participants commended the session for its clarity, spiritual depth, and practical relevance to their ministry.
The seminar concluded with a fellowship lunch, bringing to a close a day marked by learning, reflection, and community bonding.
