Karnataka Regional Liturgy Commission Embraces Synodal Path

Bengaluru, July 24, 2025: The Karnataka Regional Liturgy Commission took a significant step towards collaborative and inclusive liturgical development by convening a meeting of its newly envisioned Regional Core Committee on July 10. The gathering, marked by open dialogue and shared vision, reflected the synodal spirit that guides the Commission’s mission.


Fr. Anil Prasad welcomed the members and acknowledged their continued commitment to the liturgical apostolate. Under the leadership of Chairman, Bishop Thomasappa Anthony Swamy of Chikmagalur, the Commission has proposed the formation of a Regional Core Committee composed of Christ’s faithful who will contribute to the mission of the Commission.


Fr. Vinay Kumar, Secretary of the Commission, outlined the responsibilities envisioned for committee members to support liturgical development across Karnataka’s dioceses. Six of the ten selected members attended, bringing diverse experience from different dioceses. Fr. Supretth Menezes offered suggestions to improve coordination and overall effectiveness.


The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the committee’s commitment to working together in service of the liturgical apostolate. Members engaged constructively, sharing perspectives that will help shape future initiatives.
