Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, 24 January 2024 (CCBI): The CCBI Commission for Proclamation organised a significant training program for full-time Catechists in preparation for the Jubilee Year 2025. Held in Suvarta Kendra, Pachmarhi, a picturesque hill station in Madhya Pradesh, the workshop focused on the constitutions of the Second Vatican Council and was conducted in Hindi. Attended by 42 Catechists from various parts of North India, the seminar commenced on January 22 and is scheduled to conclude on January 29, 2024.
The primary objective of the training program is to equip catechists and leaders of the region for Jubilee 2025, fostering a deep understanding of the context and content of the four constitutions of Vatican II. This involves embracing a celebration of life and mission rooted in the word of God (Dei Verbum), expressed in the liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium), redefined (Lumen Gentium), and experienced in the contemporary world (Gaudium et Spes).
The catechists underwent training utilizing the Jubilee Year 35 booklets, which contain "Reflections on Vatican II." These materials provide a fresh perspective on the teachings of the Church, enabling catechists to convey the depth and intensity of these teachings to the faithful in the region.
The seminar has proven to be a transformative experience, significantly altering the mentality of the participants. They have gained a profound understanding of Sacred Scripture, the Liturgy, and the paschal mystery through dynamic methods, including group discussions. Participants express their happiness and consider it a special privilege to engage in this seminar on the Synodal Journey with the Dogmatic Constitutions of the Church.
