Jubilee 2025 and Feast of Ss. Peter & Paul Celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh

Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh, June 29, 2025: St. Peter’s Church, Tezu, a parish under the diocese of Miao in Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated the Jubilee 2025 and the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29 with great devotion. Hundreds of faithful from the parish and surrounding areas participated in the celebration, which was organised by Rev. Fr. Felix Antony, the parish priest, and his parish team.

The day commenced with a solemn Jubilee Mass presided over by Most Rev. Dennis Panipitchai SDB, Auxiliary Bishop of Miao Diocese. The bishop's homily and pastoral presence deeply moved and spiritually enriched the faithful who participated in the celebration.

Following the Eucharistic Celebration, the Blessed Sacrament was carried in a solemn procession through the streets of Tezu by parishioners accompanied by the recitation of prayers and singing of hymns. The Jubilee Cross was also carried proudly during the procession by various parish groups, standing as a symbol of the enduring faith of the Catholic community of Tezu.

The celebration concluded with Bishop Panipitchai imparting his blessing to all the faithful. Youth and children of the parish added joy and festivity to the occasion through cultural performances that showcased the vibrant spirit of the local community.

In the days leading up to the feast, the parish conducted a special novena in honour of St. Peter, the patron saint of the parish. The novena days included confessions, prayer services, and devotional activities designed to prepare the faithful spiritually for the celebration of the feast. For three days during the novena, Bishop Panipitchai led the faithful in prayer and reflection through his touching homilies.

Rev. Fr. Felix Antony, the parish priest of St. Peter’s Church, expressed profound gratitude to Bishop Dennis Panipitchai SDB for his guidance and blessings during the novena days. He also thanked the parishioners and all those who contributed to making the Jubilee and feast day celebration a spiritually uplifting and memorable occasion.
