Joida, Karnataka, December 7, 2025:— The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) Renewal Programme was held on 23 November 2025 at Holy Family Church, Joida, led by Fr. Cyprian Silva, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre and Secretary of the Commission for Liturgy, Diocese of Karwar.
The programme opened with prayer and meditation, after which Fr. Cyprian offered a reflection on Mane Nobiscum Domine, the Apostolic Letter of Pope St. John Paul II, emphasising that the ministry of EMHCs flows from the Eucharist. He encouraged participants to be faithful witnesses of Christ in their parishes.
During the Holy Eucharist, Fr. Cyprian invited the ministers to imitate Christ the King in word and action, reminding them of their calling to serve the Gospel through their ministry. The day concluded with Eucharistic Adoration, where he highlighted the importance of sustained personal and communal prayer.
Nineteen EMHCs from Haliyal Deanery took part in the programme. Fr. Stephen Dsouza, Parish Priest of Joida, ensured smooth arrangements for the gathering.
The participants expressed appreciation for the spiritual renewal offered during the day. Fr. Cyprian extended thanks to Bishop Dr. Duming Dias and the parish priests for their support and encouragement.
